Ulcerative Colitis is defined as a bowel disease characterized by inflammation with ulcer formation in the lining of the colon. Its cause is unknown. This blog intends to explore the complex shame that I have come to experience while living with the disease over the past ten years.

About Me

Vanessa Rae Many: I left my native home of New Hampshire when I was 19 to travel across the US, Europe and a smidgen of southeast Asia. Since then, I've lived in Arizona, Australia, Alaska, Utah, Montana, Washington DC and have traveled through New Zealand and England. After spending over two years serving with the Peace Corps in Madagascar, I've settled down for a while in Portland, Oregon. My focus right now is on healing.
